The activity developed by Porto Digital is based on three fundamental pillars:

1. Technology

Responsible for the development and maintenance of the communication infrastructure, with more than 4,000 km of optical fiber installed throughout the city, enabling the provision of public services to citizens, including free Wi-Fi access.

2. Innovation and Experimentation

Contributing to the development of public services and policies through a co-creation and active participation model, acting as an acceleration toolbox that brings together Innovation Management tools—both for the internal capacity building of municipal teams and for promoting innovation as a driver of the City’s transformation.

3. Partnerships

Ensuring the development of international networks and partnerships, fostering a dynamic ecosystem based on a continuous commitment to innovation.

Porto Innovation Hub

The Porto Innovation Hub aims to demonstrate the potential of innovation, presenting the direct impact on improving the quality of life of citizens, contributing to the creation of qualified jobs, and the potential for projecting the city to new levels of development. The Porto Innovation Hub proposes the creation of new scenarios and innovation opportunities on an urban scale, contributing to the city’s culture of innovation and encouraging citizens to assume the role of innovation engine.

Explore Porto is a service developed by Porto Digital for the Municipality of Porto, which provides useful and reliable information about mobility and points of interest in the city.

Bairros Comerciais Digitais Bombarda Digital

The Bombarda Digital project, promoted by the Municipality of Porto, Associação Porto Digital and Associação Quarteirão Criativo, brings together the stakeholders of the Miguel Bombarda Quarter (Porto) around the digital extension of a creative neighborhood.

European Innovation Academy

The European Innovation Academy is the world's largest academic programme for technological entrepreneurship and will take place in Porto between 2022 and 2026. The result of a collaboration between Porto Digital, the Municipality of Porto and the University of Porto, the initiative positions the city as an international hub for innovation, talent and start-ups.

Porto. Card

The Porto card establishes a close connection between residents and municipal infrastructure. It is a physical card with a dedicated website that provides a range of benefits related to access, discounts, mobility, and information.

Route 25

Route 25 – Agenda for Autonomous, Intelligent, Interoperable, and Inclusive Mobility” leverages the research and development of disruptive technological solutions for Autonomous, Intelligent, Interoperable and Inclusive Mobility, creating a new value chain in Portugal in technology intensive activities and territorial cohesion, generating EUR 80 million in sales and 488 jobs, through 8 activities.
