European Innovation Academy

The European Innovation Academy is the world's largest academic programme for technological entrepreneurship and will take place in Porto between 2022 and 2026. The result of a collaboration between Porto Digital, the Municipality of Porto and the University of Porto, the initiative positions the city as an international hub for innovation, talent and start-ups.

Bairros Comerciais Digitais Bombarda Digital

The Bombarda Digital project, promoted by the Municipality of Porto, Associação Porto Digital and Associação Quarteirão Criativo, brings together the stakeholders of the Miguel Bombarda Quarter (Porto) around the digital extension of a creative neighborhood.

SynchroniCity is a project that promotes the interoperability of IoT solutions for smart cities, with Porto Digital leading the implementation in Porto, strengthening the city as a benchmark in urban innovation and integrated technology.

C-Streets

Cooperative Streets aims to install pilots and pre-deploy C-ITS services in various urban areas, also addressing their long-term viability (including cost-benefit analysis, governance models, business cases and impacts and general benefits), before moving to large-scale deployment in most urban areas, municipalities and cities in general.

The project Data4Covid19 aims for the development of a platform that enables the crossing of multiple data sources in an integrated manner, allowing relevant entities of each of the action areas to design, implement and monitor, in an articulate fashion, measures to fight the epidemic.

ASCEND

ASCEND is a EU funded research project Accelerating poSitive Clean ENergy Districts in Europe. The project 8 cities and numerous partners delivering solutions in digital twins, ICT, smart heating grids, energy efficiency and optimization, building efficiency, renewable energy solutions and storage, mobility, citizen-centric and other urban solutions.

GEMINI

GEMINI aims at accelerating the progress towards climate neutrality through the demonstration and uptake of new shared mobility services, active transport modes, and micromobility and their integration with public transport in new generation Mobility as a Service (Maas).

Desafios Porto

The Desafios Porto project promoted a competition that, in a first phase, identified the main challenges experienced by the city of Porto and, in a second phase, matched them with the most innovative and scalable technological solutions. The dynamic between challenges and solutions resulted in a strong boost to the development of the city’s entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem.

CommuniCity

CommuniCity is a 3-year transformative citizen-centred initiative, which will launch 100 Tech Pilots in Europe. The project will increase the effectiveness of socio-technical forms of engagement while empowering hard-to-reach communities. The project is a continuation of H2020 OrganiCity and SynchroniCity.

BeOpen

Starting in January 2023 and with a time horizon of 3 years, the BeOpen project aims to encourage the availability and use of open datasets, enhancing the development of a new generation of services and skills in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), originating in the European Union. BeOpen will open doors to a more anticipatory and intelligent decision making process by the cities involved and to a better response to societal challenges, such as pollution, air quality, climate change or even natural disasters like fires, floods or earthquakes. Developed by a consortium of 18 partners, including public authorities, large companies, SMEs, research institutions and non-profit organizations from eight European countries, BeOpen will be implemented and evaluated in pilots that will run for 18 months in six different countries: Germany, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Spain and Portugal (Porto). The BeOpen project is perfectly aligned with the principles established by the Living-in.EU declaration, contributing to make cities and communities in the European Union smarter and more sustainable places, providing a higher quality of life, personal and professional, to its inhabitants.

Be.Neutral

Be.Neutral aims to position Portugal as an exporter of cyber-physical mobility products with zero carbon emissions for cities worldwide. It was designed to seize the opportunity to develop, industrialise, and operate new mobility products and services (physical devices, connectivity, and data science platforms) capable of realtime quantification of emissions avoided to accelerate carbon neutrality by 2030.

ATT Acelerar e Transformar o Turismo

The project aims to research and develop new products, processes and services in the area of tourism focused on the journey of the customer, the tourist, in order to promote the best experience in a safe, healthy and sustainable way. Its aim is to develop innovation processes that, leveraging technology and HR skills, support the realisation of transformations in the business fabric and tourism management entities in the region. The know-how and the realisation of the projects included in the agenda will be the kick-start for the transformation of national tourism due to their knock-on effect and the dissemination processes planned.
