The Municipality of Porto has continuously invested in improving connectivity and digital infrastructure (in particular, fibre optics, Wi-Fi and environmental sensor networks) under the umbrella of Porto Digital. At the same time, Porto sees technology as a facilitator of innovation and, in this sense, the development of technologies and powerful digital services with a genuine impact on people's lives has been considered extremely important. Participation in OASC has helped to focus on the design and implementation of solutions that can be replicated in other cities, in line with the purpose defined by OASC itself for its members. By sharing this vision, Porto actively seeks to promote the digital transformation of cities and communities in a digital and inclusive Europe, whose ultimate goal is to improve overall quality of life.
